National Night Out at Chambers Memorial Church

National Night Out - Cook Out! Join us at Chambers Memorial Church on August 4th between 5:30-7:30PM for simply good barbecue and a celebration of community spirit.

Chambers is honored to welcome civic leaders and first responders from Rutledge and our neighboring municipalities. Come meet those who tirelessly serve our community. There is no charge to participate. Come and enjoy! Morton-Rutledge Fire Company, Rutledge Planning Commission, and Rutledge ad hoc Historical Committee will be present.

2026 Good Neighbor Awards

Thank you to everyone who nominated. Mayor Gamal Sherif presented the following neighbors with their awards on July 4th:

  • Jake Mergott - for kindness and extensive work with the ad hoc historical committee

  • Sid Misra - for co-founding of Night at the Triangle

  • Steve Weimar - for volunteering with the Rutledge Planning Commission

  • Henry Prusko - for cleaning up Triangle Park (7 years old)

He also recognized a special good neighbor for the Hall of Honor Award - Carrie Kozub:

People give back to the community in different ways; caring for their own property or their neighbor's sidewalks, not littering, watching out for our neighborhood safety, sitting on borough council, attending meetings, or letting our borough office know of issues.

Carrie has been giving back through community events. She has been a huge supporter of Rutledge for more than two decades. She has organized the Fourth of July parade contest since 2004 and, while she has passed on that baton, she continues to remain involved.

Carrie made these events memorable for all the children in Rutledge and fostered a sense of community and belonging that will live with them forever. It is no small feat to show up every year, and we want to recognize her commitment!

Activities Committee

A huge thank you to everyone who came out on the sizzling 4th of July.  A big thanks to our small staff who made some adjustments due to the heat.  The MRFC for the misting station. Chambers and Sharon Parker for their involvement.  Along with all the volunteers who keep this tradition going.

As noted, we are only able to bring these events through the generous donations from residents, but donations have been noticeably down these last few years.  While it would be great to just venmo a donation; we do not have the ability at this time.

However, checks can be made out to the Rutledge Activities Committee and dropped off at the borough hall office.  Please consider donating so we can continue to fund events through 2026.  Some of which include:  Our Porch (our version of a Porchfest), Great Pumpkin Grow and Glow, Annual Tree Lighting and Luminaires, along with others.
