  • MRFC- Dan Clement Cornhole Tournament -  September 13th, at 12PM at 38 Alfa Terrace

  • Board Game Night - September 17th in Lower Borough hall at 6:30PM 

  • Activities Committee Meeting - September 24th in Borough Office at 7:30PM.

  • MRFC - Fire Prevention - October 4th from 10AM-2PM at 38 Alfa Terrace

  • Delco Arts Week - Our Porch at Rutledge Borough Hall - October 4th from 11AM-6PM

  • eWaste Collection at Rutledge Borough Hall - October 11th from 9AM-12PM

  • MRFC - Drag Bingo - October 11th, doors open 6PM at Milmont Fire Hall,  714 Belmont Ave in Folsom

  • MRFC - Trunk or Treat - October 18th from 5PM-7PM at 38 Alfa Terrace

  • RSTC Fall Planting  - November 15th, all morning starting at 9AM. Meet at Triangle Park.

  • Traveling Glass Bin - It’s back! Located in the Swarthmore Public Works yard

  • Rutledge Borough Council Meetings are held the First and Third Monday at 7:30PM in Lower Borough Hall.

Urgent Support Needed - November 15th Rutledge Shade Tree Fall Planting! 


Our Rutledge Shade Tree Commission urgently needs volunteers to support the tree planting this November 15th. This planting will have the most trees yet! We love to see new trees in Rutledge, but we need volunteers to help dig, plant, and stake the trees.  To volunteer, show up to Triangle Park at 9AM on November 15th &  reach out to rutledge....@gmail.com with questions!

Save the Date! PorchFest - Our Porch at Rutledge Borough Hall

Mark your calendar for the first "Our Porch at Rutledge Borough Hall" porchfest on 10/4 in honor of delco ARTS Week.  

Kids activities from 11 to 12.  Music starting at 12.  Happy Hour to follow from 4-6PM.  


Is your teen seeking community hours? In addition to the fall planting, We are looking for a few teens who need community service hours to assist in making musical crafts with kids!


We invite and encouraging artists from all mediums to display their creations for the week of 10/4 to 10/11.  Drop off on 10/4 at 10:30 to the lower borough hall.  Pick up on 10/11 from 9 am to 12.  


Donations needed!  If you would like to donate items, please drop them off to the borough hall or the green bin at 209 Linden  Avenue:   

  • Art Supplies: liquid paints (washable preferred) and paint brushes for kids, empty tissue boxes, empty easter eggs (to make shakers), sturdy paper towel/toilet paper rolls, paper plates/bowls to make tambourines, coffee cans/large balloons/tape (to make drums), all sizes of rubber bands and 16 oz water bottles for shakers, etc. 

  • Outdoor games to borrow (course): Cornhole, jumbo Connect Four, etc.

  • Additionally, we continue to look for monetary donations to the Rutledge Activities Committee to fund events such as this; thus, your donation is truly needed and used exclusively for activities within the borough.

Volunteering Opportunities:

  • Adhoc Historic Committee: Monthly meetings will be posted soon! If you are interested in being one of the members, please submit your letter of interest to rutledg...@gmail.com

  • Rutledge Shade Tree Commission:  Shade Tree Commission's upcoming tree-planting? It will be on November 15, and we're asking that volunteers meet at Triangle Park at 9:00AM. This is the largest planting ever, and we could use all the help we could get!

  • Planning Commission – One Open Seat There is still one (1) open seat for the Rutledge Borough Planning Commission! Want to volunteer with the community, learn more about new initiatives, how decisions and recommendations are made within Rutledge, and give back? To be eligible, you must be resident for 12 months minimum. Please send letters of interest to the rutledg...@gmail.com


Sanitation Committee


Next Yard Waste is Friday September 19th

Yard waste will continue twice a month through November.  Again:  grass clippings are now accepted, but no plastic bags please and no oversized/extremely heavy items.  Also,please break down your yard waste into manageable piles whether in cans or tied up.


Reminder:  we now have a trial textile bin located by the borough hall garage for clothing, shoes and household items.  See:  https://reclothearth.com/ for a complete list of acceptable items.


Also, Mrs. Huron at 228 President is welcoming donations for a clothes closet at a local church.  Leave bags on her porch.  Feel free to spread your donations around.  


Save the date, 10/11, for our next Ewaste event 9AM-12PM .  NO TVS/Monitors are accepted, but all types of scrap metal are welcomed.  Hard Drives, phones, laptops, etc., destroyed for a $5.00 fee.
