Meetings are Thursday nights at 9:30 p.m. in room 105 in Voorhees Hall on College Avenue Campus
It's finally Novembrrr, grrl!
Hey y'all! Here's an update from the Queer Student Alliance of Rutgers University (formerly BiGLARU: the Bisexual, Gay, and Lesbian Alliance of Rutgers University).
This Thursday is the SHA presentation! What's a SHA? A SHA is a Sexual Health Advocates, who provide tools and information to assist students in making informed, responsible decisions about sex, sexual health, contraception, and relationships.
Interested in sex? Not sure what sex means for you? Looking to pick up some valuable tips for a healthy sex life? Have questions about it? Then come to our meeting this week where our own Rutgers Sexual Health Advocates Glenn and Manny will be presenting an awesome program on queer sex including demos, Q&A, free stuff, and more, so come queer your sex life with us!
THREE other awesome events going on this week and next week:
Faces of the Rutgers Queer Community Project
Civic Square Building, 33 Livingston Avenue, Room 345
One of the most important issues we face as a community built around differing sexualities is visibility. For this project, we will be taking studio portraits of volunteers from all around Rutgers who identify as part of the queer community or as an ally.
We will be photographing in a studio space at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Room 345 on the third floor (in the back hall near the lounge and right across from the vending machines).
This is an ongoing project and time slots are available based on your availability, so to schedule one, send an e-mail with your name and preferred day/time to qsa.r...@gmail.com. Check out the Facebook event or the collection thus far.
The Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities is STILL looking for fierce models!
Wednesday, November 16th morning - afternoon; Thursday, November 17th morning
The Center is working with University Relations and Creative Services to produce new marketing and promotional materials for the Center to highlight the queer community at Rutgers. We are looking for students interested in being photographed as part of the community. This requires a high level of visibility and "outness," as you will have to sign a waiver giving the University permission to use your image.
Please contact Paul DeStefano at paul.de...@gse.rutgers.edu if you are interested in being part of this exciting new project.
