This program will serve as the opening event for TRIO week and co-sponsored with the Vice-President of Undergraduate Education, Campus Dean of Livingston, Project Civility, the New Jersey Pride Alliance, Hudson Pride Connections Center, New Jersey Coalition of Bullying Awareness and Prevention.

Keynote Presentation:
Jodee Blanco will be the keynote speaker for the day who has been recognized as one of the experts on bullying in America.
Her book is often referred to by many as the “the anti bullying bible”. Published works of Jodee Blanco include but are not limited to: “Please Stop Laughing at Me: One Woman’s Inspirational Story”, and “Please Stop Laughing at Us”., Jodee Blanco has effectively intervened in many bullying related attempted suicides and acts of student retaliation. Miss Blanco has received the recognition by The United States Department of Justice, the United States Department of Interior, the National Crime and Prevention Council, the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Association of Youth Courts. She has appeared on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, Nancy Grace, Teen Newsweek, Oprah.com, Teacher Magazine and Scholastic.

Book Signing:Jodee Blanco with solicit of the Rutgers Approved Barnes and Noble Bookstore will assist in the conduct a book signing the last half an hour of her presentation. Pre-signed books will also be available to help alleviate time constraints.

Vehicles of Change Workshop & Reception:At the conclusion of the event a reception followed by a workshop will hosted by Jodee Blanco for invited Rutgers student leaders, teachers, community members and administrators. The goal of his workshop is to help those who are in the classroom, community and or work with youth daily to become knowledge about specific strategies for handling bullying and victims of bullying on campus and communities. At the conclusion of this workshop there will be a brief question and answer session and another small book-signing with both books authored by Jodee Blanco available.
