to SMT Russian Music Theory Interest Group
Dear SMT-Rus members,

The Russian Music Theory Interest Group will elect a new Chair for a three-year term, 2020–2022. You will receive a link by email to an election ballot on Thursday, November 21. Please contact me if you do not receive a ballot.

We have one candidate for election. A quorum of 14 responses is required to confirm the election results. (This is based on a two-year average attendance of 28 at the annual meeting.) Please vote yes or no, via the emailed ballot.

The election will close on Wednesday, November 27, at day's end. If a quorum is not met, the election will be extended by one week.

Candidate bio:

Ellen Bakulina is Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the University of North Texas. She holds degrees from the CUNY Graduate Center, McGill University, and the College of the Moscow Conservatory. Her work has appeared, or will soon appear, in the journals Intersections, Journal of Music Theory, Music Theory Online, Intégral, and Theoria, as well as a volume on Russian music forthcoming from Routledge. Ellen is a native Russian, and the connections between Russian- and English-language theoretical traditions are one of her major areas of interest. An active member of the interest group since its founding in 2013, she has made several presentations at its annual meeting.

Sincerely,

Chris Segall
