York City is the primary fundraising event for The Russian Children's
Welfare Society http://www.rcws.org/index.html
Started in 1965 by a group of descendants of Russian families whose
intent was to raise funds to help to Russian children. Since then, the
Ball has become one of New York Society's most vibrant and anticipated
annual events, attracting upwards of 800 dinner and dancing guests.
The RCWS's 41st Annual Petroushka Ball was held on February 10, 2006
at the Waldorf-Astoria Grand Ballroom with Anna Netrebko and Rolando
Villazon as our Guest Artists.
Russian Children's Welfare Society is pleased to report that the
latest Petroushka Ball was a total artistic and financial success
setting attendance and money raised records. We look forward to our
42nd Petroushka Ball scheduled for February 9, 2007.
Russian ensemble "Barynya" musicians and singers will be performing
for the dancing pleasure of the Petroushka Ball attendees from 10pm
