SQL Server Configuration Manager and SQL Server Management Studio use Window Management Instrumentation (WMI) to view and change some server settings. WMI provides a unified way for interfacing with the API calls that manage the registry operations requested by the SQL Server tools and to provide enhanced control and manipulation over the selected SQL services of the SQL Server Configuration Manager snap-in component. For information about configuring permissions related to WMI, see Configure WMI to Show Server Status in SQL Server Tools.

You can also run Apache via the shortcut Start Apache in Console placed to Start Menu --> Programs --> Apache HTTP Server 2.4.xx --> Control Apache Server during the installation. This will open a console window and start Apache inside it. If you don't have Apache installed as a service, the window will remain visible until you stop Apache by pressing Control-C in the console window where Apache is running in. The server will exit in a few seconds. However, if you do have Apache installed as a service, the shortcut starts the service. If the Apache service is running already, the shortcut doesn't do anything.
After starting Apache (either in a console window or as a service) it will be listening on port 80 (unless you changed the Listen directive in the configuration files or installed Apache only for the current user). To connect to the server and access the default page, launch a browser and enter this URL:
Because Apache cannot share the same port with another TCP/IP application, you may need to stop, uninstall or reconfigure certain other services before running Apache. These conflicting services include other WWW servers, some firewall implementations, and even some client applications (such as Skype) which will use port 80 to attempt to bypass firewall issues.
Modern web servers can provide far more functionality for a business and its users. Web servers are often used as portals for sophisticated, highly interactive, web-based applications that tie enterprise middleware and back-end applications together to create enterprise-class systems. For example, Amazon Web Services allows users to administer public cloud resources through a web-based portal. Meanwhile, streaming media services, such as Spotify for music and Netflix for movies, deliver real-time streaming content through web servers.
Updated link to install Sql server Database in local machine. Once it is installed you can get access to local database and you can see SQL Server windows services instance up and running in your services list window.
The answer is the Microsoft SQL Server Browser service. The Microsoft SQL Server Browser program runs as a Windows service and listens for all incoming requests for resources and provides information, such as the TCP/IP port, about each instance installed on the computer. Microsoft SQL Server Browser also contributes to these two actions: browsing a list of available servers and connecting to the correct server instance.
As part of predictive alerting, if the server hits one of the following SNMP events: PDR16 and PDR63, a recommendation will be sent from Dell support via email regarding the dispatch of the predictive failure or a bad disk block such as SSDs subject to the prevailing licensing terms and conditions. To dispatch parts, a service address to Dell support will be required. This feature is available only on Windows and Linux operating systems.
In the previous table where it says , you have to replaceit with the name of your instance. This name is set during SQL Server installation, but there are two standard names which are MSSQLSERVER for the default instanceand SQLEXPRESS for the SQL Server Express edition. Maybe you have already figuredthat out, but it's worth mentioning that you can have many services whichinclude the in their name on a single server.
SQL Server Management Studio, which we call SSMS for short, also allows us to start and stopSQL Server services locally and in remote systems. If you right-click over a databaseserver or a SQL Server Agent in the Object Explorer window a contextual menu willpop up. Amongst the items in this menu, there are the "Start", "Stop" and "Restart"items. Those items perform the specified action on the service.
If you are one of those people that want to get things in order and take advantageof the Registered Servers feature of SSMS, you can also handle SQL Server servicesfrom there. What you need to do is right-click over the server name, and in thecontextual menu that pops up expand the "Service Control" item. There you have the"Start", "Stop" and "Restart" items.
On modern Linux distributions services are managed by the systemd service manager.Something to note is that systemd is not a utility used to start or stop services,it is a suite of building blocks on which Linux implements an elaborate transactionaldependency-based service control logic. If we want to search for a Windows equivalentwe can say that systemd is to Linux systems what Service Control Manager (SCM) isto Windows.
The Sage 50 Accounts Data Service runs on the computer or server where your Sage 50 Accounts data is held. The service acts as a gateway and controls the reading and writing of data. Using this service increases the robustness of the system, improves data security, and helps to optimise performance.
If the service state seems to be stuck on either starting or stopping, you can follow the steps below to force the service to stop and try again. Alternatively, you can restart the machine mentioned in the error message. If you're unsure about restarting your server, please speak to your IT administrator.
