Folks, We have a lot to do on the ruralnet project. The funding agency
is happy with the research output but not the advocacy output for which
we need measurements from a lot more locations. I just shared several
Fusion tables with you, and attaching the action plan and data format
that we need going forward.
Let us meet on Saturday to take stock, I'll let you know the time around
when various project presentations are scheduled to happen.
Broadly, the next steps are as follows:
- Collect throughput, latency, etc standard measurements from all the
current locations for 3-4 weeks. The format for these measurements is
attached and data should be entered in the fusion tables. Extract this
data from the past locations that were instrumented for the DEV paper,
and those that are being instrumented now, and bring these tables up to date
- Complete the one-time test suite design and create tour plans to
collect tens of measurements from MP, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand
Our goal should be to collect by the end of June long term data from 3
locations in UK, 5 in and around Ranchi in JH, and the current 5 plus
additional planned locations in MP. And run short term tests in UK, JH,
and MP in several tens of areas.
