Hello everyone,

Reeborg's world (http://reeborg.ca/world.html) is now better, in my opinion, than RUR-PLE ever was.  Tasks can be defined with goals that can be automatically verified; tasks can also be defined with randomly selected initial conditions, something that was not built in into RUR-PLE.  See http://aroberge.blogspot.ca/2014/11/tasks-with-random-initial-values.html for a brief discussion and a link to one such task.

If you navigate to the home page, you will find various links of interest including one to a Python tutorial that is, in my opinion better than the one I had included with RUR-PLE.  From the home page, you can select the French version which has a link to a French version of the tutorial.

There is one aspect in which Reeborg's World is lacking compared with RUR-PLE: the amount of (human) languages that it support.   If you want to find out about what needs to be done to support different languages, have a look at the following blog post: http://aroberge.blogspot.ca/2014/11/translating-programming-environment.html

If you are interested in helping with the translation work, or know people that might be interested, feel free to contact me.

(Translating entire tutorials is not my priority.  The existing tutorials represent my quirky way to "teach" programming.  I've seen at least one different tutorial using Reeborg's World ... and doing probably a better job than mine does)

Cheers,

André
