I just dined in the dark with my wife (http://www.didexperience.com; https://www.facebook.com/DIDPhnomPenh). We were led to the table and served by blind guides (waiters and waitresses). We could not see our food, drink, plates, fork, knife, spoon and glass since the dining room was completely dark. We needed to touch everything for eating and drinking. But the food was nice and the experience was great. We lost all our intelligence, arrogance and confidence, and completely trusted our blind guides. I sometimes abandoned the spoon, fork and knife, and used my hands (I had not cleaned them, though). We guessed what we ate. If we wanted to toast, we needed to touch each other. It is another enriching activity in the dark that we should do with our loved one(s). I want to have a faculty party there so that we will be less intelligent and arrogant. They have Khmer, western and veggie food.

You are invited to our grand opening of DID - Dine in the Dark on 23^rd of November 2013.

 

Dine in the Dark is Phnom Penh's new, fine dining concept restaurant where guests have the opportunity to dine in a pitch-dark environment. In addition to providing an extraordinary and fun experience, this business also serves a social purpose by exclusively employing visually impaired persons as service staff to lead you through a journey in a sight-less world

 

You and one person of your choice will be treated on this special night to a surprise 3-course dinner, choosing from Khmer, International, or Vegetarian options. The event will also feature live performances which will take place both in the dark dining room and in the DID lounge on the ground floor of Botanic Café.

 

Entertainment on the night will start at 18:30 and last until 22:30. Please join us for some welcome drinks from 18:30 onwards; seating will begin from 19:30.
