Ifyou are installing Windows 10 on a PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista, or if you need to create installation media to install Windows 10 on a different PC, see Using the tool to create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) to install Windows 10 on a different PC section below.

Note: Before you install Windows 10, check to make sure your PC meets the system requirements for Windows 10. We also recommend going to the PC manufacturer's website for any additional info about updated drivers and hardware compatibility.

After downloading and installing, the tool will walk you through how to set up Windows 10 on your PC. All Windows 10 editions are available when you select Windows 10,except for Enterprise edition. For more information on Enterprise edition,go to the Volume Licensing Service Center.

If you have Office 2010 or earlier and choose to perform a clean install of Windows 10, you will need to locate your Office product key. For tips on locating your product key, check Find your Office 2010 product key or Enter the product key for your Office 2007 program.

If your PC does not automatically boot to the USB or DVD media, you might have to open a boot menu or change the boot order in your PC's BIOS or UEFI settings. To open a boot menu or change the boot order, you'll typically need to press a key (such as F2, F12, Delete, or Esc) immediately after you turn on your PC. For instructions on accessing the boot menu or changing the boot order for your PC, check the documentation that came with your PC or go to the manufacturer's website. If you do not see the USB or DVD media device listed within the boot options, you may need to reach out to the PC manufacturer for instructions for temporarily disabling Secure Boot in your BIOS settings.

If changing the boot menu or order doesn't work, and your PC immediately boots into the OS you want to replace, it is possible the PC had not fully shut down. To ensure the PC fully shuts down, select the power button on the sign-in screen or on the Start menu and select Shut down.

If you downloaded an ISO file for Windows 10, the file is saved locally at the location you selected. If you have a third-party DVD burning program installed on your computer that you prefer to use for creating the installation DVD, that program might open by going to the location where the file is saved and double-clicking the ISO file, or right-click the ISO file, select Open with and choose your preferred DVD burning software.

If you want to use the Windows Disk Image Burner to create an installation DVD, go to the location where the ISO file is saved. Right-click the ISO file and select Properties. On the General tab, click Change and select Windows Explorer for the program you would like to use to open ISO files and select Apply. Then right-click the ISO file and select Burn disc image.

If you want to install Windows 10 directly from the ISO file without using a DVD or flash drive, you can do so by mounting the ISO file. This will perform an upgrade of your current operating system to Windows 10.

If you have folder-level security (granular folder permissions) enabled in Settings > Misc > General, changes in functionality will significantly impact the way existing share behavior works when you upgrade from versions below 23.1 to FileCloud 23.x and higher. If you have granular folder permissions set, please contact FileCloud Support before upgrading to FileCloud 23.x and higher to avoid share and file access issues.

Download the latest FileCloud Windows Update Tool from

Note: It is essential that you download the latest version of the update tool; If you run an old version of the tool, you will re-install an old version of FileCloud.

Open the FileCloud Control Panel and click Stop for each running service. ( If you are upgrading an HA system, stop all the nodes (All DB servers of the replica set as well as the Apache web servers on each of the nodes).) If running Memcache, make sure it is stopped too.

Ensure that Install Folder shows the location of your XAMPP folder. This location is auto-detected, but it may not be able to determine it correctly if there are multiple XAMPP folders. If it is not correct, select the correct XAMPP install folder.

Click Start on the Update Tool dialog box to begin the upgrade. (Repeat steps 1-3 for each of the nodes for HA system).

The tool must be able to connect to the internet in order to download the update package. Please contact sup...@codelathe.com if you see any errors in this step.

I ran the tool as the steps describe (installing it, using upgrade-assistant analyze with the project csproj path and then upgrade-assistant upgrade with the path), but after it was done, the project still remains with a target framework of .net standard 2.0.

.NET standard works parallelly. That means you would have to update to .NET standard 2.1 if you need it for other old framework projects. Otherwise create new libraries in .NET 6 and migrate your code.According to microsoft: -us/platform/dotnet-standard,.NET 6 supports .NET Standard 2.1.Future versions of .NET will also support .NET Standard 2.1 and earlier versions.

The interface Project > Property tools isn't the way to update version from .Net standard to other versions other than standard versions. The right/easiest way is updating the TargetFramework in .csproj file of the project directly.

Upgrade your app to the latest .NET versions with Upgrade Assistant right from Visual Studio. Right click on your project file and let the tool guide you through the process. The tool will choose the best upgrade type for your application and upgrade your project file and your code to accommodate some breaking changes and to use newer features.

The media creation tool can be used to upgrade your computer to Windows 10 or to create a USB or DVD and install Windows 10 on a different computer. Microsoft has a step-by-step process to allow you to upgrade to Windows 10 using the media creation tool.

Once you open the link, click the SHOW ALL link to see all the instructions for running the upgrade on the computer you are on or how to create a DVD or USB Key to run the upgrade on another computer.

I upgraded yesterday to 11.3.2 and had the same issue with the Jamf Server tools. I opened a ticket and they suggested deleting the tools.yaml file and letting it recreate itself when you run the Jamf Server tool. I had to verify that all the settings were fine, but now Tomcat shows its is running in the tool. If you open that file, you will see that it is set for Tomcat8 and then the new file will show Tomcat9

I have the same I think. Just upgraded my Dev JAMF server (Windows) to 11.3.2 and it seems Apache Tomcat 9 is now the version yet under the server tools it is not starting as it says it cannot find tomcat8. The JAMF web interface is working fine though so looks like the Server Tools part is not getting the fact it now uses Tomcat 9.

Interestingly I get another error message (error: failed to start the server: exit status 2), but this might be due to other language pack on the server? If I remember correctly exit status 2 also meant something like service not found so it's probably the same issue.

Thank you for posting this. I was shocked when I tried to open the Server Tools and it says it was looking for Tomcat8, when I knew JAMF decided to upgrade to Tomcat9. Was throwing an error about the Database.xml missing as well, and it was referencing the wrong location. Would have been fantastic if JAMF had mentioned this in the upgrade notes.

After upgrading to Jamf Pro 11.5.1, I too experienced the issue and had to change the service name. Additionally, I was getting an "Error: unknown flag: --tomcat-service" when I tried to reset the service name on one of my 3 JSS clusters using the new 3.1.1 server tools but was able to change it manually by editing the tools.yaml file on that one server. However, the others allowed me to change the service name using the jamf-pro CLI server tools.

I'm interested in the installation size of Windows 10 when it has been installed on an existing, clean, Windows 7 or Windows 8 installation. By "clean" I mean only a standard non-OEM OS and critical drivers, and updates.

This is for a clean install onto a new disk, keeping nothing. You are braver than I am to try an upgrade. My previous Win 7 install had suffered from windows rot (degeneration of the registry over the years) so needed blasting anyway.

* For me, this includes deleting all unnecessary pre-installed programs (for instance games, OneDrive, Weather, News, etc.), getting the newest updates, and running Window's Disk Clean-Up tool afterwards.
