--looking for an amazing roommate for a 6-person midtown loft---
We are 3 guys, 3 girls, and 1 dog coexisting together, working hard, and living life in the “fun-est” ways we know how in a large spacious loft next to Bryant Park. Check our blog (http://house2.tumblr.com/) and photos to get a sense of what we do (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/house20/).
We have one room available from July 7th. The loft has 5 bedrooms, a spacious living room, ample dinning room space/kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. We have roof access and an elevator that opens directly into our apartment (cool, eh?!).
How We Live…
We share most everything including food, chores, and bills. We are respectful of each other's things but are very easy going about sharing. We all have very different schedules, yet we do our best to have fun together. We keep the place mostly tidy (‘mostly’ being used loosely…) and love to have dinner parties. If you’re a five star chef, all the better! It is not uncommon to find numerous guests hanging out at our place and crashing on our couches. We take care of each other and our house doggie mascot, Oscar. We aren’t much of smokers, but do enjoy numerous tasty beverages. We love music, sports, literature, rocks, camping, photography, art, Macs, technology and movies on projectors.
Who We Are…
Isuru is a brown-faced, fun-loving guy from Sri Lanka who worships positivity and honest communication. He doesn't speak much English, but he loves partner-dancing, sketching, taking photos, cooking spicy food, traveling the world and 90s techno/pop. At his job as a financial analyst, he explores the world for investment ideas and dreams of green energy.
Tony is a friendly, karaoke-loving guy who loves technology, movies, music, philosophy, and photography. He is a community organizer, entrepreneur, and project manager. He runs a few co-working communities in NYC and works from home. He's from Long Island, is a project manager for a web design company, and is building a co-working space downtown. He enjoys cold beer, warm weather, catchy music (almost any genre), good conversation, and finding new things to do in the city. Tony once won a sand sculpting contest!
Miro is a blond-haired mischievous imp who loves to instigate all sorts of trouble. He has an opinion on every subject, whether or not he's ever heard of it. He speaks funny English with a cute Slovak accent, and talks so fast that your head will spin. Miro revels in being politically incorrect, and will often tease people by making fun of all their fundamental beliefs. In in his free time, he loves engaging in outdoor sports, including soccer, snowboarding, ice hockey, and paragliding.
Deedee is a spiky haired, punk-rock loving, girl originally from Detroit. She is happily an ex-middle school teacher and enjoys the fact that she can now get a real job… though currently she doesn’t have one. Her favorite pastimes are playing with dogface Oscar, watching football, supporting the Red Wings, drinking all varieties of icy beverages, and making fun of people – all people, she doesn’t discriminate.
Rachel loves to cook delicious food and ride her bike. She is a recovering TeachForAmerican and enjoys working a mildly interesting 9-5 now. She aspires to be a rockin' violinist with the house band, though much practice stands between her and that feat. She's from Massachusetts and Jersey and other places.
