this reminds me of the Mirage OS in terms of architectural approach

they implemented their own network stack also.

benchmarks show it performs at double the speed of a classic linux system.

I am also wondering if anyone has thought of the opportunities this presents for offloading and onloading computation and data structures between the client browser and the server.
I dont just mean how meteor approaches things.
I mean that you could potentially run complete parts (Web Components) on the server, and GLUT them to the client.

I think this system is pretty similar to Mirage OS. Network stack is a planned feature of Runtimejs.
NodeOS is different because it uses Linux kernel to run node on top.
