Hi Joan, and welcome :-) Your web based OS seems interesting, but I
don't think this is the better place to talk about it, specially if
you have started your proof of concept with Node.js. runtime.js is a
general purpose OS kernel that's build with Javascript, but has a
similar functionaliy as Linux, ntkrnl.exe or any other kernel and it's
somewhat agnostic about what's running on top of it, only that
Javascript application could get some advantages :-) I believe that
what you are looking for it's runtime.js cousin project NodeOS, that's
an operating system build on top of Linux and Node.js, and in the long
term is expected could replace its Linux kernel for runtime.js and in
fact we have been talking about add a GUI
(https://github.com/NodeOS/NodeOS/issues/79), but runtime.js is too
much low level for what you want to achieve.

Disclaimer: I'm the NodeOS lead developer after @groundwater gave me
that honorable position :-)
