For most courses, you should have IELTS level 6.0 (with no skill below 5.5) or an equivalent qualification.
For Nepal, if you have achieved 60-65 % or a 3.0 CGPA or higher on your full undergraduate degree, we can accept a Mode of Instruction (MOI) letter to meet the English language requirement.

There are a number of external funding bodies that exist to support study in the UK. Government departments, international agencies, charitable organisations and private companies may also be able to provide financial support for certain subject areas. If there is a local British Council office near you they can provide up-to-date advice on what is available for your country and you can search for scholarships online.
If you're studying the Higher Secondary Education Certificate you will need to take an additional course before being able to apply for an undergraduate course at York. This could be A levels, the International Baccalaureate or a recognised foundation course. Other post school qualifications may be considered for entry to York on a case by case basis.
Typically you would need at least the equivalent to a UK upper second class honours degree (2:1), however some courses will accept lower second class honours degrees (2:2). Actual requirements will vary by course.
You can apply online for taught Masters courses and research degrees. You can apply all year round in most cases but we recommend that you apply as early as possible due to competition for places and funding application deadlines.
