The term eBook refers to an electronic version of a printed book. eBooks can be read on a variety of devices in addition to eReader software on devices such as mobile phones and personal computers. The most important consideration when purchasing an eBook is what device you intend to purchase the eBook for. eBooks in ePUB and PDF format may be read on several eReader devices (Sony Reader, B&N Nook, for example). The Amazon Kindle uses the MobiPocket file format. All Apple devices with the Stanza app installed will automatically download eStorefiles.
eReader software is a program that allows the reading of eBooks (or non-native eBook formats) on additional hardware devices, such as personal computers or mobile phones. An example of eReader software is the free Stanza app which is designed to read ePUB format books on Apple devices. Stanza 3.0.3 will also read eBook PDF files, but PDFs are not optimized for small screens, so the reading experience on handhelds may be inferior to the experience with ePUB. For more information see our eReader Software Guide.
When applicable, students should verify their financial aid balance prior to visiting any of the stores. Financial aid students can also request to have their materials shipped to their home address.
Students must have their PantherCard (physical or virtual) in order to use their financial aid at the bookstore. Students can add a photo online and have their PantherCard mailed to their home address. Students wishing to get a PantherCard in person should check the available hours before arriving at the store.
Rent-a-text is a lower cost option for obtaining the materials needed for your classes! For more information about this program, contact the Palm Beach State College Bookstore on your campus, or visit the Rent-A-Text Website.

At the online bookstore students will find an easy, affordable, and hassle-free shopping experience. At the online bookstore, students will be able to find and order books for all UAA campuses (Anchorage, Mat-Su College, Kenai Peninsula College, Kodiak College, and Prince William Sound College).

A full refund will be given in the original form of payment for Textbooks and Access Cards during the first week of your class. Textbooks can be returned in person during bookstore business hours or they may be mailed back to the bookstore. You need to provide the original receipt and a copy of your class schedule showing the start date. We do not provide return shipping labels. Please pack securely if mailed! Damaged returns will not be refunded. We would recommend using a method of shipping that you can track. Any purchases after the first week of class are considered non-returnable.
Textbooks and access cards must be in original condition and not exposed. Shrink-wrapped books must be returned with all items unused, and not activated. No refunds on unwrapped loose-leaf books. No refunds on Digital Content once accessed.
Digital Content Textbooks that were received electronically follow the same policy and they must not have been activated to be eligible for a refund. Please notify the store by phone or email for refunds of content received electronically.
Some publishers are making textbooks available in an electronic format. This is made available to be delivered via email or a printed access card depending on the publisher. The bookstore does not control the terms of the electronic format or the length of access. Electronic format textbooks that have not been accessed or exposed follow the same return policy as printed materials.
You can purchase access to these electronic versions through the NOVA Bookstore website. If you are considering purchasing an electronic version of a textbook rather than a hardback textbook, be aware of the following information:
To determine what restrictions the publisher has placed on the eBook you are considering purchasing, after you have searched for the book in the Digital Textbooks site, click the book title and then click eContent Details on the NOVA Bookstore website.
Ordering your NOVA Online books and other course materials for NOVA distance courses is easy. Just go to the NOVA Bookstore. Choose Textbooks and in the Select a Campus drop-down menu, select Alexandria Campus and NOVA Online.
Textbook buyback will be available if the bookstore is open to customers. Students will need to bring the textbooks with a valid NOVA ID card to any bookstore location for the current value and sell back. This is not available by mail process.
