Saturday Mill to Haile or race

Hi Runners,

This Saturday, November 2nd, we forgot that some of us have signed up for a race!  It is the Cottonmouth Quarter Marathon in Elkton, Florida.  runsignup to register, it starts at 8:00 a.m.  We may have room for one person to ride with us, or you could caravan with us.  Contact John jmdav...@gmail.com if interested.   I think it takes less than an hour and a half to drive there.  And the diner in Palatka has a good breakfast after!

For those of you not making the trip, meet West at 6:30 a.m. at the Mill to run to Haile. This route is 8, 10 or 12 miles long, we can tell you when to loop back or how to add more. It is roadside, some sidewalk, paved trail, and we notice little hills on way back. Water stops every 2 to 3 miles, two have bathrooms, one is at Haile Publix, you could buy gatorade. The Mill is the Bakery Mill and Deli restaurant located off Newberry Road, west of I-75, in shopping center across from now closed Kmart. Next weekend I will not be scheduling a long run, as the Tom Walker Half Marathon and 5k is Sunday, Nov. 10 on the Gainesville-Hawthorne trail. There will be pace groups for the half marathon and medals for the finishers. FTC members get discounted entry! Log in to your account on FTC website for the coupon code.

FTC Mary Andrews Marathon, half, and 4 person marathon relay is Sunday, January 19th, 2025, same day as Jekyll Island marathon, half, or 10K.  

FALL BACK: Turn clocks back Saturday night, means light in the morning and dark very early! Hooray for fall weather!
