Hi Runners,
This Saturday, March 29th, you have two options.  We will start our long run at PDQ at 6:30 a.m. to run the Vinson specialty hill route.  This route can be 10 or 12 miles, depending on where you come back.  It includes campus roads, hills, roadside and some sidewalk, dirt trail thru Alfred Ring Park (or go around), hills, and water stops every 2 - 3 miles.  Two stops have bathrooms.  PDQ restaurant is at corner of University Avenue and SW 34th Street, it is the old Grandy's, we park in the back.   Check out this map to remember the route:  on MapMyRun: 12.1 mi Vinson Specialty hill route      https://www.mapmyrun.com/us/gainesville-fl/vinson-specialty-hill-route-309713033
I will not be here this week, so please watch out for new runners that do not know this route.

And we text when finish for breakfast club after our run! Probably 43rd Street Deli.

2nd option: If you are interested in a trail run, the 2025 Trail of Payne 5k, 10k or 1 mile fun run is SaturdayMarch 29th.  Hosted by Lloyd Clarke Sports (and we're glad they are back in business!) register at runsignup.com

Races: FTC Tobacco Road 5K and Brunch at Squirrel Ridge Park on April 12th at 8 a.m. This race is free to FTC members and $20 for non-members. Register at runsignup.com       Don't miss this:  Spud Run in Hastings, April 26th!  5K, 10K, or both!  Remember cabbage and potatoes when you finish and a Cabbage, Potato and Bacon Festival in Hastings!  We have a good group already signed up and we are bringing breakfast foods to share to celebrate after under the big tree.   Also considering the following weekend is Fernandina Beach Shrimp Festival 5k, SaturdayMay 3rd. The festival is great and so was last year's tie-dyed T shirt!

Happy SPRING!  Lots of great races all over Florida!
Run happy, Diane
