Hi Runners,
This Saturday, December 28th we will start our long run at 6:30 a.m. at the Mill to run to Haile.  This route is 8, 10 or 12 miles long, we can tell you when to loop back or how to add more. It is roadside, some sidewalk, paved trail, and we notice hills on way back. Water stops every 2 to 3 miles, two have bathrooms, one is at Haile Publix, you could buy gatorade. The Mill is the Bakery Mill and Deli restaurant located off Newberry Road, west of I-75, in the shopping center across from now closed Kmart. That address is 1143 NW 76th Blvd.  On MapMyRun: 12.05 mi Mill to Haile      http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/235662749  Good breakfast at the Mill after!

The Sunday morning trail run meets at  7:30 am, leave at 7:45  for a fun run under the trees.  Several marked nature trails allow for name-your-own distance between 2 and 20 miles, the large group means you never have to run alone (unless you want!).  All paces encouraged.  San Felasco south entrance, 11101 Millhopper Road, Gainesville.   Questions?  contact Richard  rjgarand@gmail.com

And I haven't mentioned it lately, but the free 5K at Depot Park every Saturday morn is still happening:   Encourage new runners to join: Every Saturday there is a free 5K at Depot Park.  Shauna Dixon has spearheaded 'parkrun' here in Gainesville.  It is a FREE, timed, 5k held every Saturday at Depot Park at 7:30 a.m.    Runners and non runners can come out and run at their own pace against the clock. It is not a race and not competitive but is motivation for our community to get up, get out and get moving.     parkrun.us/depotpark or on Facebook at Depot Park parkrun.

Ring in the new year:  The Frank Shorter mile and kids mustache run will be New Year's Day, January 1st at noon.  What fun!  register now at runsignup.com  And Newnan's Lake 15K is Saturday, January 25th, and Life South Half Marathon with the new route is Sunday,  February 16th.  So get registered!

And a Happy New Year!
Run happy, Diane
