Hi Runners,
This Saturday, February 22nd, we will start our run at 6:30 a.m. at the Flying Biscuit to run our own hilly route, but backwards and not do hilly section on sidewalks of 23rd.   We will go up 43rd to 39th, out 39th to Publix drink, over I-75 thru Meadowbrook, to SFC drink, then back across to 39th and return.  I think this will be about 11 miles, you can run up to Hunters Crossing for more.  This route has hills, paved trail, roadside, and sidewalk, water stops with bathrooms.  The Flying B is at corner of NW 16th Avenue and NW 43rd Avenue, we park close to 43rd, On MapMyRun: 11.99 mi Flying Biscuit Heartbreak hill route http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/230811065

And we will text for breakfast, probably at 43rd Street Deli.

Also, next weekend, March 1st is Gate River Run, so let me know if you will be here and want a long run.  Then March 8th is the new run Archer 5K and 10K, see FTC website.  And we are planning another fun race to the  Spud Run in Hastings, April 26th!  Remember cabbage and potatoes when you finish and a Cabbage, Potato and Bacon Festival in Hastings!  Register now!

It's still February, so it's cold again this weekend!
Run happy, Diane

Good morning! Could you please tell me the range of paces in the group? I’m thinking of joining tomorrow but don’t want to be too slow.  Thank you!

Deb

Hi Deb,

I run very slow too - would love to have run with you. My pace average is 11 or 12 min mile, but happily run slower too and taking walk breaks.
Please let me know if you are planning to attend and I'll ensure to be there, as I don't always run with the group.

Text is best if early in the morning too.

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

Thank you so much for reaching out! My pace is a little faster than that on long runs, around 10-10:40, depending on how I’m feeling.

Hi Deb, I think you'll most likely have some people at about the same pace as you.

Just note that the group won't run the route exactly as shown on mapmyrun due to construction on 23rd Avenue. It's usually a big clockwise loop, but due to construction the plan is to run it counterclockwise to Santa Fe and then retrace steps back to the start, basically the out and back that Diane outlined in her email.

-mark.

Hi Deb,

Got it - let me know if you still want to run together, even for part of the route.

Happy running!

Hi Rebecca,

I’m in the middle of a marathon training block, and my coach is fairly specific with my distances and paces, so for right now I’ll stick to that.

Thank you again for being so welcoming!
