Hi Everyone,

I wanted to alert you to some upgrades we have made!

  1. New Homepage and Blog -- Our old homepage was pretty dated, and we decided we had a lot to say so we are starting a blog.  If you use Runestone in your classroom I would love to have you do a guest post and tell your own story.
  2. Instructors Guide -- Using Runestone eBooks in your classroom -- Yay, at long last.  This guide grows out of a couple of workshops some of us have done at SIGCSE, it makes sense to publish it for everyone.  Feel free to make suggestions or even better contribute to the common good by making changes yourself and submitting a pull request.
  3. Author Guide -- Writing your own materials with Runestone is not as hard as you think, and now there is some good documentation to help you get going.
  4. We would also be thrilled to have you join us on our Slack channel !  Slack is open all day for me and is the quickest way to get to me and other devs.

There are a lot of great ideas in the development pipeline, so take a look at the Roadmap blog post and link to the roadmap and feel free to weigh in on what is most important to you.

I am trying to install runestone server on AWS Cloud 9 Ubunty 18.*
getting conflict on sphinx:version:
ERROR: runestone 3.4.4 has requirement Sphinx==1.8.4, but you'll have sphinx 1.8.5 which is incompatible.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

The release of Sphinx 2.0 caused some incompatibilities that needed to be cleaned up.  I thought 1.8.4 was the last of the 1.8 line.  I’ve updated the requirements so any version of Sphinx >= 1.8.5 will be acceptable which should fix your problem.

I’ve just released runestone 3.4.5 to address this.
