Good Morning,

We are migrating our Windows Server 2016 setup to Red Hat Linux 8.2.  I have installed from the rpm before but it defaults to /etc and /opt respectively.

I will not have access via sudo/pbrun/root to either /etc or /opt.  I think there must be a way to point the install at another directory, but I can't seem to find the steps.

We are doing the same for Java/Coretto  for the commands and MySQL for the backend db.

Can someone help me find the steps/requirements to setup RunDeck on RHEL 8.2 into a custom path?

Hi Aaron,

An alternative (and easiest way) is to run a WAR-based installation on a custom path, take a look at this. Check here to know more about the service startup/shutdown.

Regards!

If you only want to change the root path, start run deck with:
-Drundeck.config.location=.../rundeck/etc/rundeck-config.properties -Drdeck.base=.../rundeck
