Hi,

Im looking for any kind of documentation or information on how to trigger a rundeck job from a jenkins pipeline script, either from a 'jenkinsfile' or directly in a pipeline script in a jenkins job.
i have done my due diligence and googled this but haven't found any practical info or examples.
Has anyone set something like this up? Any pointers?

Hi,

we achieved this by creating a job called 'Rundeck runner', which uses Rundeck API and triggers specified JOB in GROUP with OPTIONS and NODE filter when needed. Once the job in Rundeck is triggered then we're actively polling for the result. It's simple script with 2 curl-s.

Hi Carl,

You might also try the new rundeck CLI tool that can trigger a rundeck job. See https://github.com/rundeck/rundeck-cli

Thanks,
i have tested the "Run Job" style in my groovy script and it works.
Im just curious if  there are any plans on enabling scripting of Rundeck plugin jobs in the groovy scipt for jenkins pipeline directly?

Cheers
