Not Able to access Rundeck home Page outside of RDP with Client VPN Connected

Hi,

We are able to access every page except home page outside of RDP with VPN Connected as we are getting  blank screen on Home page when accessing application in chrome where as in Firefox home page is getting loaded but with missing fields and icons. But inside the RDP it's working perfectly. PFB the errors that we are getting. 

Can anyone, help me out to solve this.

Hi,

Is that Rundeck instance behind a proxy/LB server? In that case please set the `grails.ServerURL` parameter (on the `rundeck-config.properties` file) with the Rundeck proxy exit URL. Also, make sure that third-party security software isn't blocking some web elements (it's another possible reason, take a look at this).

Nope, our Instance is not running behind a proxy/LB server. Also, we have checked no third-party security software is blocking any web elements.

Hi Nidhi, A good idea is to discard any server/infra problems, did you test with the latest firefox/chrome browser version? (both). Checking around that problem it seems that some firewall/VPN is blocking some .js files.

Hello Team,

We have checked with the server and infrastructure team to look if there is anything which is causing the issue from their end but nothing is blocked. Also, In our case VPN is our firewall and the team said nothing is blocked from their end as well.
We have tested the application with both the latest versions of browsers. In chrome, we are getting a blank page with the error as:

Whereas in Firefox we are getting details but navbar, Rundeck logo and setting icon are not getting loaded:

As you can see below when we are trying to access it within the RDP, everything is getting loaded properly. Whereas outside of RDP, js is loaded which is only in KBs. And, I do understand check-vendor.js might getting truncated. But we don't know from where and what we have to look for the issue in order to resolve. It would be really helpful if you can guide us if there is anything we need to look from configuration perspective here. Is there any issue related to buffer size, response load time or anything else.

Hi Nidhi, also check the grails.serverURL parameter in the rundeck-config.properties file, this parameter must be defined with the external rundeck URL (not “localhost:4440”).

We have checked and it's only pointing to our DNS not localhost.

Hi Nidhi, is the server.useForwardHeaders=true parameter already set in the rundeck-config.properties file? Could you test adding it and restarting the Rundeck service?

Added it and restarted the service. Still facing same issue. :(
