does that option still work? according to the docs it still does. but after an upgrade from 1.4.5 to 1.5.2 it seems to be ignored.

Works for me, on 1.5.3 (upgraded from 1.5.2, which was a clean installed, under Linux (Debian 7), configured in rundeck-config.properties

huh, looks like this is the problem
NO JSP Support for /, did not find org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet
Unable to load specified config location classpath:rundeck-config.properties : class path resource [rundeck-config.properties] cannot be opened because it does not exist

that file does exist, how else would it connect to its db?

i did notice in /etc/rundeck/profile that
-Drundeck.config.name=/etc/rundeck/rundeck-config.properties

changed to
-Drundeck.config.location=/etc/rundeck/rundeck-config.properties

but if i use .location Rundeck fails to start

Hi Chris,

There were some fixes to incorrect configuration paths in the rpm/debian distributions that was fixed in 1.5.2 and 1.5.3.  A problem was that the installed config file location was not correctly set (part of that fix was the diff that you noticed in /etc/rundeck/profile). This might be your problem with the gui setting.

(the "NO JSP Support" warning is not related I believe)

How does rundeck fail to start if you use the .location value?

Here is a gist of what happened after i set it to .location

that just a snip, as it went on for quite a while. i have a feeling i've got some legacy configuration somewhere thats causing this.

Seems like a configuration issue.  If you want to send me your config file (or most of it) directly, I can take a look.

Hi Greg,

Need you help on configuring the GUI.
rundeck.gui.startpage
I am not sure how to proceed with this configuration in rundeck. Please suggest.

My requirement is to customize the GUI. However, when I login to rundeck need to get the jobs page by default. I you can personally send me couple of same rundeck gui customized config files. that would be a real help. thanks.

Best Regards
Praveen Kumar g
