I've defined a job I'd like to be able to re-use for different groups of nodes. What I mean is, sometimes I'd like to run it on node A, while other times I'd like to run it on nodes B & C in the same run process. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Guy

Hi Guy,
By "in the same run process" do you mean adding some logic to your job so the node selection happens dynamically or just selecting the nodes you want it to run on at execution time?

Not sure about the first option but the latter is pretty straight forward as long as you've checked the "dispatch to nodes" option and selected an appropriate filter.

If the "dispatch to node" was the droids you were looking for then you might want to read this

http://rundeck.org/docs/manual/jobs.html#node-dispatching-and-filtering

and head to the Dagobah system.

J.

Ahhh, thanks for the Jaime. I worked out I could do it using an option and then using the option in the node filter. It would be nice if we could use saved, named node filters (from the "Run" page) in our jobs, I'm not sure why it's not an option but in the meantime this works ok.

I'll check out Dagobah...

Thanks!
Guy
