Hi All

I started using the ec2-plugin for Rundesk. I can see all the nodes. When I go to run a command on one of the servers I get ConnectionFailure: Connection refused

I've confirmed I can ssh to the node using the private key and the username from the command line... ie ssh -i /var/lib/rundeck/.ssh/ops-restart.key ops-restart@sy1tst-wts1

I am using Rundeck inside docker but cant see why that would be an issue as I can ssh to the node inside docker container. I also did a tcpdump and when I run the rundeck job, I dont see any TCP traffic. I do when I do an SSH command in docker. Seems somethings going on inside of Rundeck.... any ideas?

Using ssh keyfile: /var/lib/rundeck/.ssh/ops-restart.key
10:53:50Starting SSH Connection: ops-restart@ (sy1tst-wts1)
10:53:50Using private key file: /var/lib/rundeck/.ssh/ops-restart.key
10:53:50Set timeout to 0
10:53:50Connecting to :22
10:53:50Connecting to port 22
10:53:50Connection refused
10:53:50Failed: ConnectionFailure: Connection refused

Hi, does your key have a passphrase?

Can you confirm that from inside the docker container you can ssh out to the remote box (eg, sy1tst-wts1)?

This doesn't appear like the node "hostname" is set.  it says "Connecting to  :22" it should include the hostname.

The ec2 plugin by default uses the public IP or hostname but if you do not have a public IP, it will not be set.  You should change the default mapping for node hostname to include the private IP/host
