Dear colleagues,

You are invited to participate in the doctoral dissertation study that I am conducting, titled: Designing Instructional Tasks for Teaching Calculus with IBL. I, Saba Gerami, am a mathematics education doctoral candidate at the School of Education, University of Michigan, and I am conducting the study with my advisor, Dr. Vilma Mesa. The overarching aim of the project is to understand the ways college calculus I instructors use mathematical tasks for teaching differentiation. If you have used IBL methods to teach your Calculus I course for at least one year, we are kindly requesting your participation in the study. You don’t have to be teaching Calculus I now. The survey will take about one hour to complete; after completing the survey, you may be invited for a follow-up interview.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please click here or use the following address to complete the survey:  https://umich.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_25XcSwcYUQjYO1M

As a token of appreciation, survey participants will receive a $15 gift card upon completion of the survey. If you are invited to be interviewed you will receive a $100 gift card instead. Your information and responses will be kept confidential, and you may withdraw from the study at any time.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail (sge...@umich.edu).

Thank you so much!
