Dear Colleagues,
Over the past few years, a group of us at Texas State and Arizona State partnered with some mathematicians to develop some unique introduction to proof instructional materials (thank you taxpayers and NSF, DUE#2141925). We call the project Reading and Appreciating Mathematical Proof (RAMP) because the focus is on teaching students to learn to read proofs and to learn by reading proofs. The materials provide students opportunities to read interesting proofs to help them see the richness of the genre as well as stories from our mathematician co-authors to humanize mathematics.
We are interested to have instructors use the materials and help us gather data from their classes. Please reach out if you or a colleague might be interested to use the RAMP materials sometime in the coming year. We would be happy to meet with interested faculty over zoom to introduce them to the materials.
Thank you,
Paul Dawkins
