Dear colleagues,

We are excited to announce the third iteration of the Research in Graduate Mathematics Education working group, titled “Bridging Research, Practice, and Advocacy in Graduate Mathematics Education,” which will take place during this year’s RUME conference on Thursday February 26, 8am-12pm ET.

This working group brings together scholars interested in graduate mathematics education to build community, foster collaboration, and engage in meaningful dialogue across research, practice, and advocacy. A central focus this year will be the collaborative drafting of a Graduate Bill of Rights, grounded in research and lived experiences, with the goal of articulating principles that support dignity, equity, and well-being in graduate education.

The working group will include opportunities to:

  • Connect with scholars who share interests in graduate education in the mathematical sciences (including mathematics education)

  • Engage in conversations that bridge research and practice

  • Contribute to advocacy-oriented work through the Graduate Bill of Rights

  • Foster mentorship and collaborative relationships across career stages

You can join us in person at the RUME conference or virtually. If you are interested, please fill out this Google form (link: https://forms.gle/MYwMihFM1fXTNduE8) to help us with programming and planning details.

We warmly welcome participants at all career stages and from a range of perspectives. We hope you’ll join us for this continued conversation and community-building effort. Please feel free to forward this to anyone you know who might be interested. If you would like more information about our group, please visit our website (https://www.rgme-group.com/index.html).

Lastly, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at (tol...@ucsb.edu).

Best regards,
