Dear Colleagues,
Central Michigan University will host a second PhD Recruitment event online on January 16 at 3:30 pm. Below is more information about our program and attached is a flyer about the recruitment event, including how to ask questions in advance. Please share this flyer and email with any undergraduate and master's students who are considering obtaining a PhD.
At Central Michigan University, our Mathematics Department offers a PhD in Mathematics with a Concentration in Collegiate Mathematics Education. Students in this concentration take courses in both mathematics and mathematics education and write a dissertation in collegiate mathematics education. Our mathematics education faculty (Ana Dias, Martha Frank, Tom Gilsdorf, Lino Guajardo, Doug Lapp, Tibor Marcinek, Christine Phelps-Gregory, and Katrina Piatek-Jimenez) research a variety of topics focusing on RUME (or RUME adjacent) research, such as the teaching and learning of proof and the language of mathematics, equity and gender, technology, collegiate student beliefs, the teaching and learning of algebra, ethnomathematics, and research on prospective teachers. Some funding is available for graduate assistants.
Those interested in attending the event can sign up via the attached flyer or can join directly via the link below. If you sign up in advance, you can add questions you would like us to answer in the webform found on the flyer.
