Dear colleagues,
On behalf of fellow guest editors Anatoli Kouropatov, Alicia Sánchez, and Osama Swidan, I am pleased to announce a call for extended abstracts for an upcoming special issue (SI) of Digital Experiences in Mathematics Education (DEME). The SI focuses on practices in using Generative AI (GenAI) in learning and teaching mathematics. Please see the attached PDF for more information.
The objectives of the special issue are to capture the shift from early experimentation to systematic, evidence-based integration of GenAI into mathematics classrooms; promote communication among research groups studying GenAI; and provide validated approaches for educators and researchers.
We welcome extended abstracts (up to 1,000 words) for theoretical and empirical papers on themes including empirical classroom trials, theory-driven designs, mathematics-specific assessments, critical engagement with GenAI outputs, equity issues, and community resources. Abstracts are due March 31, 2026.
Please reach out to the guest editors with questions (details in
the PDF) and share with interested colleagues.
Best regards,
Vahid Borji
