Hello Everyone,
We have our last Rugby All-Star Try-Outs and Player Camp of the season this Saturday, June 22 at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) during the South High School Regional Cup Tournament (RCT). The fields are located at 2111 E. Main Street in Murfreesboro, TN 37130. Camp participants need to arrive at the fields by 9:45am. Our first session will begin at 10:00am on field #3.
Since college players cannot participate in the RCT, they will be engaged in our camp until it's conclusion early Saturday afternoon. High school players not on a RCT team may be placed on a team for the opportunity to play and show their skills in actual games. High school players must bring their school identification card. If you are a high school player interested in playing in the RCT this weekend please contact John Watson at parkw...@yahoo.com.
USA Rugby South is an official pathway to the High School All-American and National Teams programs. The RCTs serve to identify core talents of athletes at the high school level. All-American scouts attend this tournament every year to make selections for future All-American camps and tours. Players identified may be invited beginning in September to participate in their winter camps.
U19 Panther Director Mark Williams will be the USA Rugby High School All-American (HSAA) Identification Scout for the RCT this weekend. "This weekend I am honored to be a part of the HSAA program", said Williams. "My focus is to identify talent that has the potential to play at the next level".
Final selections for the Rugby Americas North (RAN) U19 tournament and Panther 7s for Salt Lake City, UT will be finalized after this weekend. Registration for the camp is now FREE so players interested in playing with the Panthers this summer or in the future should register now to ensure the receipt of future information. To register, simply fill out our USA Rugby South Player Form which you can do by clicking here: https://allstarrugby.sportngin.com/register/form/338975736.

USA RUGBY EAGLES 7s JERSEY AUCTION
One of the goals of our All-Star rugby program is to prepare players to compete at a higher level and provide a pathway for selection to our national team. So when USA Rugby High Performance Manager, JD Stephenson declared in a recent statement, "The South Panthers continue to develop as a major pathway to the National Teams Programs", we were thrilled! Then, in further show of support, JD shared with us an officially signed USA Eagles 7s jersey that celebrates the 2019 Las Vegas 7s Championship! Thank you so much JD...very kind of you! We have decided to auction this one of kind jersey to raise money for U19 players who need assistance when we compete in RAN 15s this summer. Please keep your eyes out soon for more information on how to bid on this truly unique rugby treasure!
