OK, since I'm back in the UK, I thought I might as well make use of my
time, and get some nights organized again. I've been in talks with a
few club owners around Leeds, and currently I'm thinking about
organizing the nights at Fudge (Behind the Corn Exchange). Fudge is
nice and intimate, has a great sound system, and a nice atmosphere -
exactly what I'm looking for. If anybody in the area has any
suggestions for the night - maybe something that's missing in your
average club night - or if you want to help out in any way, get back
to me!

Right now we're thinking about running the Ruforia night once a month
- if it gets popular, we might make it once a week. It looks like it
will probably be on a Wednesday. As always we're just aiming to make
sure everyone feels welcome and has a great time, and that the
emphasis is never on one genre of house - just Good House :)

Also I'm just planning out my next mix for the podcast - I'm thinking
about making a 2 hour monster (I feel like I've been a little stingy
with the minutes just lately), I've collected some great tracks
together already, but if anyone has any further suggestions, as
always, I'm open.

Ibiza Love,
Fusx

Hi Rufas

Firstly I want to let you know that I love your music
and mixes.
Every month I`m there awaiting to download your
podcast so that I can dance frantically around my
front room with the biggest grin on my face, as the
tunes just get better and better.

I live in Nottingham, and would really appreciate if
you would consider venturing down here for a set or
two. So then I could have the best night of my life!

PLEASE

Mike

Hey mate,

Glad you're liking the mixes :) (Also glad I'm not the only one that dances like a loon to them ;)

if there's a big enough interest I'm willing to DJ anywhere, but as usual in the clubbing world, it all comes down to who you know - I don't really know anything about the scene down in Nottingham, the clubs, promoters, managers etc. Because of this, it might be difficult to organize a whole night down there. What might be more feasible would be to get in touch with an already established night, and guest DJ there instead - this would mean that I'm not having to promote in a town I know nothing about lol :)

Perhaps if you could suggest some house nights in the area, I'll try and get in touch with the promoters, and we'll see if we can pester them into letting me do a guest spot ;) Venue is also very important of course - I prefer slightly smaller clubs purely because they feel more intimate and it's easier to achieve that "Ibiza atmosphere". That's part of the reason why it's taken so long to find a venue up in Leeds - it's difficult to find a venue that people don't already have a pre-conceived attitude towards, I was trying to find something intimate, friendly, yet a bit underground. I want everyone to feel welcome, no matter how they're dressed. I'm tired of all these clubs in Leeds that won't let me in just because I'm wearing a hat, or the wrong shoes. I don't go to a club to pose in fancy shoes, I go to dance!

I hope we can work something out down there!

If you've enjoyed my podcast - please please please donate to my "save the laptop fund" - right now it's buggered, and I have no money to fix it. Without my lappie, unfortunately can't produce any more mixes for the podcast. Anything you can spare is truly appreciated. You can donate at http://www.myspace.com/ruforia/

I went to see the owner of Fudge today, and everything seems pretty
peachy, I've just got to get a proposal to him for Monday, which
should not be too difficult. For anyone interested, I've put a couple
of pictures up on my blog: http://rufuswhite.blogspot.com/2007/04/new-spiritual-home-for-ruforia_26.html
.

Right now I'm thinking of charging around £3 entry, or free if you can
cobble a group of 6 or more people together. There will not be a guest
list, but also I will make sure there are not people waiting outside
if there is room in the club. No guest list means everyone in the room
is equal right from the moment they walk through the door.

All going well, the first night should be in just over a month!
