I just recently bought a control4 system and have version 3.2. I am looking to update my music and downloaded composer. The version downloaded was 3.1.0. This doesn't work with my system and it says there is an update available, version 3.2.1. when I click to update it says "there are no versions found for Composer 3.2.0." The location it is looking at is _0/Updates.asmx. I have searched for anywhere that has the newest version, can someone help and copy a link. Thanks.

you will get that notice in HE if there is an update but you need to update OS (by your dealer) then update composer HE via downloading as mentioned above on your own after the controller OS is updated. When you get that notice you can click close/cancel or whatever and go about using composer HE

I'm also seeing this problem. I went to download Composer ME (for the first time ever) and the version selector ends at 3.1.0.xxx. I tried downloading that, but after it starts up, it notices my system is 3.2.1 and tries to update. It gives me dialog with "Available Updates" 3.2.1.589001-res+Composer but if you click on "update", you get "There are no versions found for Composer ME 3.2.1".

Same problem for me too... We have scrolling pictures on the kitchen wall tablet. I put that up through ME a while ago but now I cannot connect through ME, how am I supposed to change and the pictures on the screen as and when I want to? I tried doing it through HE but that does not work, the instructions say add the folder but it wont let you do that, it tries to add files but they do not come up in the list of photos.

two questions, I am new to my system installed at Christmas and after already having Sonos, Philips hue and harmony remotes before, feeling a little flat about what I can and mostly can't do to change things in control 4. Have door station, door strikes, hc-800, 5 x Sonos, a stack of lights (hue) and blinds (Somfy RTS controller). I want to tinker with scenes and have some control myself. My dealer tells me $350 Australian for composer home edition and it won't do much for me

Question 2 - can I get it cheaper elsewhere or can you only have 1 dealer. I see some people advertising to do remote dealer work, can you buy software / licenses off others or are you locked into one dealer at a time?

Absolutely get HE if you have any desire to modify what your system can do. It will pay for itself almost immediately. Working in Composer is not difficult, but you can't "write code" - it's all drag and drop, so it's more time consuming than regular programming. At $85/hour, HE pays for itself with less than two hours of your dealer doing stuff. The list on HE is $149. Maybe a remote dealer can/would sell it for less if they were also going to do some additional work. But $149 is nothing in a C4 project.

on your second point - you are not tied to any dealer. Only one can be listed as yours on the Control4 web site, but you can change that back and forth at will. You can also add other dealers as authorized users so they can log in to your system.

Thanks everyone. Got a remote Canadian dealer to do it for me, the year of 4sight extra made it pretty cheap for just software. And your right. Wife is much happier I can update, change, rename custom buttons. Got Alexa working and custom lighting scenes allow me to end user configure system to do anything through control4 from Alexa! Happy man - thanks!

@Shardik - Why do you say that? Are there other products that are more advanced in this area? But then again, the technology may be from the 90s when you look at how long C4 has been around. My system was installed in 2007 and I don't really think that Composer HE is radically different today than the version that I used back then.

1. a button that will close the garage doors if left open, that happens a lot around here. I was able to program it so the LED on the button comes on Green when they open and changes to Red after 30 minutes. Then I also set the button to Toggle the open close on a single tap. Then for our second garage door it is all controlled off a double tap. If one door is still open the lights don't go off.

2. a button that will Cycle through a couple of her favorite playlists. on a button click it increments a variable and depending on the variable number it sill select that playlist. a double click turns the music off.

Neither of these would have been possible if I didn't have HE. I would have had to call my dealer and wait till he could fit me in. Additionally if you like to tinker with your system this give some level of involvement. If you aren't into that and just want it done, then let your dealer do it. I personally think it is worth every penny.

If you have any interest in doing things yourself, HE is a must and will pay for itself the first time you implement something. I have a lot of custom programming and scenes that make using C4 far more enjoyable that would have cost me thousands of dollars through a dealer (along with all the wait time), though I would have done without most of it if I couldn't do it myself.

I know this is an older post but hopefully it is still monitored. You state that you need Pro to add drivers, but if I already have some devices in the system and want to expand it is that possible. For example, I have lutron Caseta light switches and blinds already under control so if I add an additional light circuit can I add that to the C4 system with HE or do I need Pro for that?

I have already purchased 4sight and the home edition comes with it, can. Upgrade my current 4sight to include home edition. If not if I purchase home edition can I use the 4sight licence included next year.

Great product! (one of the better I have installed over the years.) Took approx 15m to completely set up.
Would like the option to not have the flashing lights on the puck when idle. Can be distracting to some customers.

UPDATE: the new firmware (1.0.2) implements very subtle standby indication if the environment is brightly lit and switches it off indication entirely when the environment is dark. Please contact me via email if you would like to mail your units in for re-flash.

Love it Love it Love it!!!!! We used to use the control4 z2io with contact and rail sensors and then have to solder our own garage door button. It works and was solid, just a major pain in the butt, plus we then had to run another wire from the garage door opener to the rail contact sensor. Your product takes a fraction of the time and no extra wires to run along and down the walls. We have only had one problem, sometimes the units will lose connection after a couple of days. We have the customer unplug and then re plug them back in and they will automatically reconnect, but then the same thing after a couple of days. Other than that, we love the Garadet, plus the integration into control4 is as simple as double clicking it in SDDP.

Nick,
Thank you for your feedback. The current firmware has a watchdog timer that reboots the controller automatically if it is unable to reconnect to the WiFi for some time. Hopefully that addresses the issue you described.

The On Sale section will be updated often with sale, clearance and end of life products. if you see products you are interested and would like to make a bulk purchase please reach out to our sales team for better pricing.

The Blackwire Yamaha MTX mixer driver enables control of the Yamaha MTX3 and MTX5D on Control4 systems, enabling zone outputs to emulate a simple audio matrix. This operates as a standard matrix switcher as well features mixing when using our included UI experience buttons. The customizable mixer interface is built in composer and can be enabled on a per room basis or globally.

Your Control4 system can integrate with the IQ2 panel without adding any additional hardware. The IQ2 & IQ4 panel supports SDDP and be integrated using this feature through Composer software when integrating into a Control4 system.

Control4 integration has been and is likely going to continue to be a security only integration. Once the IQ panel has been integrated into the Control4, Control4 does have some automation hooks that can be executed based off of IQ panel security actions. For example, when a door opens (information from the security panel) the Control4 pro can program a light to turn on (through Control4).

A simple check might be to note the IP address of the Control4 controller and the IP address of the IQ2 and verify that they are both on the same network IP scheme. The first three octets must match, for example: 192.168.1.X

Touch the box that says Control4. Once touched the panel will display a pop up indicating a panel reboot to enable the Control4 integration. Touch OK to confirm and the panel will reboot. When the panel reboots you have 10 minutes to integrate the panel. If the 10 minute timer has expired before the panel is integrated into Control4, the panel will reboot causing this setting to be disabled.
