We actually haven't encountered such a problem before. It sounds as though you simply reinstalled your Viber app. Once you do that, your call log and message history is deleted, and unfortunately it can't be retrieved.
I am 100% sure I didnt reinstall anything that time, I tried to update it and I couldnt, even when I found the problem, I spent days trying hard to look for my messages without doing anything, because am afraid i will loose them.
@sam-rt - as we said, this problem is not familiar to us. From the way you describe it, it sounds as if once you uninstalled and reinstalled Viber, everything has been working fine. Is this really the case?
@dcombes - unlike sam-rt's problem (with the older versions of Viber), the problem you are describing (in iOS5 with the latest version of Viber installed) is known to us and we have actually already fixed it. The new fixed version will be available hopefully within the next several days on AppStore (Viber 2.1.2).
@theViberTeam - when the new upgrade is made available, will the messages that have been lost be restored? I have some very, very extremely important messages that have been deleted and it is quite vital I retrieve them, however that may be.
When does the upgrade come out? you post said a few days, but it has been longer. I love Viber, but today I just lost all my text messages and they were important. Although Viber is free, I would have been willing to pay if I knew I was going to lose all my messages ? And I advertise for you. I tell anyone with an iPhone if they dont have viber, they should get it because it rocks....well it did before my texts got deleted!

Hi, whenever I make or receive a phone call, the other person can't heard me at all. I can't heard anything too. (Sometimes all I get is like static noise) The weird part is that whenever I use viber, voxer, heytell or memo voice notes they work great. I already change the dock connector but I got the same error. At this point I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem since the mic and speakers work fine with other applications.
i think the problem is with the noise cancelling microphone located near the headphone jack and the IC chip that controls it, you can bypass this by going into SETTINGS-GENERAL-ACCESABILTY and turning hearing aid mode on. give it a try and see if that helps
Replace the dock connector. It is the bottom microphone that is supposed to work on calls and the top mic works on apps. The issue is definetely with the bottom mic. The mesh on the bottom of the phone may be clogged. I had one come in recently with the same issue. I replaced the mesh in the bottom of the phone because it was clogged completely up. I did not even replace the mic just cleaned it up and replaced the mesh. Make sure the mic is plugged back in the bottom of the phone. Static is an indication of a bad connection. Like my Daddy always told me just because you did it doesn't mean you did it right.
had the same prob, people couldnt hear me, but i can hear them, but when using viber... the mic works just fine- i changed the mic, it worked for 2 days then the prob came back, the guy workin on my iphone said its because of the 'microphone crystal' chip, so we replaced it and it works just fine. am not sure if this is the correct name but the guy showed it to me, it is not included in the microphone, it is a small chip (almost 1mm each side) located in the middle, try to replace it though its a bit hard to find one. it costed me 27 $
After updating my iPhone 6 to iOS 10, all calls coming from Viber and Skype are appearing in the calls list as normal phone calls. Also, when I'm on a Viber call and a real phone call comes, I don't get notified. Before iOS 10 it used to mute Viber and give me a notification than someone is calling. I don't think it is possible to revert back to old settings now. I have opened a ticket with apple to get the users freedom to either use or not use. The setting like Setting -> Phone -> Service provider makes perfect sense. Lets see if apple provides this capabilities or not.
This problem has been solved automatically, I am not sure if it is because of IOS 10.1.1 or an update to viber app, currently it gives me a waiting beep/screen while I am on viber call and getting a normal call, didn't test yet with other apps like skype/whatsapp
