Will "rvm list known" do what you want?

rvm list known - list most recent / imporant releases rvm supports with source
rvm list remote [rubies|rbx|jruby] - list available binaries for your platforms
rvm install 1.9.3 --latest-binary - install latest available 1.9.3 binary (before I have time to compile from latest source)
rvm install rbx-weekly --binary - detect latest available weekly build of rbx

bonus:
rvm use 1.9.3 --fuzzy - use latest installed version instead of latest available
