Sorry for the quite late reply. I know this isn't very helpful but I
really don't know anything about cucumber so this group is probably
not the best place to be asking. I am however in the process of
rewriting the rubypython core code to provide more functionality and
when that is finished it should be easy to plug in and modify python
code.

That being said, I think that if you read the current rubypython
documentation so that you are aware of when rubypython returns value
vs references it should be fairly self-evident how to translate
examples of python code to rubypython code.

P.S. Please note that rubypython is not right now under active
development per se. I release bugfixes as necessary and work on the
new version as I feel like it.
