Ah Spring. The sun is shinning, the grass is green, the little birdies are all twitterpated, and it's time for our next Coderetreat (Saturday, April 21st)!
Coderetreat is a day-long, intensive practice event focused on the fundamentals of software development and design. If you are a developer who wants to practice and become better at your craft, then you'll like Coderetreat. The unique coderetreat format (which eliminates the pressure of 'getting things done' and focuses on practicing basic principles of good design) has proven to be a highly effective (and fun) means of skill improvement. Check out
coderetreat.org to learn more.
You can register at:
http://pghcoderetreat1204.eventbrite.com/You only need to bring a laptop with the development tools you require to write code using your chosen programming languages. Coffee and lunch will be provided.
The codretreat is free, however, we require a $15 refundable deposit. The deposit will be
refunded in full when you attend the event or you notify Jim Hurne by
Sunday, April 15th that you are unable to attend. Any funds not refunded will be used to fund local Coderetreats or donated to the
Coderetreat Community Contribution Fund (c3f).
This event is hosted by
Robert Morris University and sponsored by
Omnyx. If you have any problems registering, or have any other questions, feel free to contact Jim Hurne (

I hope to see you there!
