Hi everyone

First of all, sorry to those of you who, like me, are subscribed to both of the groups in which I'm posting this.

I'm looking for a developer to help expand my business.  I can offer in the R25k to R35k range at the moment.

The service is currently available in 2 countries in Africa.  It's launching in its 3rd country at end of Aug (in Asia), and the 4th country by Jan 2014 (an EU country), due to demand that exists in those markets, and many others.  So there's a chance that the stock options you'll get over and above your salary may actually be worth something.

I'm based in Sandton but happy with a remote worker.  Rails / Ruby experience is preferred, but we can chat if you don't have it but are generally a good developer.  I believe in making an effort to keep things DRY and tested, and if you feel the same, then we'll enjoy working together.

If you're a buzzword junkie, please don't apply.  It's a Rails 3.2 project and will upgrade to Rails 4 in good time, but that's dictated by business needs.  And it's almost Ruby 2.0 ready, which is actually a priority just for the extra performance.  And there's some CoffeeScript and Backbone action going on.  But if you work with me, you'll learn how to balance your need for shiny new technology with good business sense - a skill that will set you apart from other developers way more than learning something new just because it's the flavour of the month.  At least IE6 and IE7 are not supported :)

I hope to create an environment where you can enjoy your work while still keeping the bottom line in mind.  That is why I started this business, and that's why I chose Ruby.

Please phone me on 082 591 6191 if you need to talk, or mail [my first name] at simplepay.co.za.

Thanks for your time.

Cheers
Dave
