SO Question: Data saved in ActiveRecord model is incorrect

Been having trouble saving data in an ActiveRecord model that came from a Mongoid model. Would be great if anyone could help.

It is generally considered poor form to ask a question in two places
at once. Better to try one and if no success then try the other, and
ask the question properly rather than expecting others to go and find
the original question.
