Location: Dallas, TX - Relocation provided

Position Type:  Direct Hire

Hourly / Salary Conversion:  up to $140K

Residency Requirements: MUST be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder to be considered, as no sponsorship is being offered at this time.

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

PlacingIT Technical Staffing is searching for a Ruby on Rails Software Developer who will be responsible for building and modify existing applications built on ruby on Rails.  The Software Developer must have experience with eCommerce, Large Scale Web Properties, complex integration projects, middleware. Web service projects is desired.  The Ruby on Rails Software Developer will be primarily responsible for laying the groundwork for the Rails-based infrastructure and take the lead in developing the web platform for managing auction creation, scheduling, invitations and social sharing.  The Ruby on Rails Software Developer work closely with product management to prioritize and implement new features, and also work hand in hand with other front- and backend developers as well as interface with the companies patented server technology.  My client is looking for someone that will go the extra mile, when and where is it necessary.

Required Skills

3 years of experience required……

·        Developing with Ruby and Java

·        Familiarity with MVC frameworks such as Rails and Spring

·        Developing highly optimized database applications based on Oracle or MySQL

 

Preferred, but not required:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent

·        Client-side web technologies (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript, CSS)

·        Memcached and Lucene/SOLR

·        Linux system admin experience, particularly in Cloud environments (i.e. Amazon Cloud Services)

·        Prior startup experience

·        Familiarity with social networking sites and best practices for integrating with them
