Sortable tree, drop multiple levels?

Does anybody know an example of the sortable tree where the nodes will
also drop in correctly at more then one level.. the first always goes
ok but at the 2nd level it is almost impossible to drop it in, even
with the example:

I think there was a patch on trac to fix this, but it hasnt been put into the distribution copy

1 year and still not implented properly ?
