I wonder if anybody can do a quick run-thru of Sinatra tonight?

Cheers

Dear Kai

So sorry - weather too unpleasant for evening motorcycling so I am not able to attend.

I would love to do a sinatra demo sometime as I am a small fan although would not describe myself as an expert.

Hopefully enough of you will attend for a useful evening

Have fun

Much thanks. Maybe next time & I'll look forward to it. I hear Sinatra is suppose to be less rigid & great for neat smaller projects.

Yes it is very simple to set up and is well supported on heroku. If your site is just a couple of models and a few pages it is much lighter and quicker than rails.

I ran my dancing group's site on it for 4 years without any errors, although I used Datamapper and Erector instead of Activerecord and erb but the main problem was getting paperclip to work with Datamapper so when heroku retired aspen last month I opted to replace it with a rails app.

However I ran a quick and dirty app to store home recipes in using sinatra and mongodb so maybe that would be a good demo.

Just the mention of doing a demo of mongodb, I'ld expect a lot of new people will want to drop by and have a look

Just need the weather to be warmer now.
