I sort of anticipated a slow ramp up last week as I finished up some
of my commercial responsibilities and got myself acquainted with the
PDF spec and the task at hand.
Thanks to James Healy's help with providing a prototype, my version of
prawn is getting close to drawing lines. From there, the next order
of business will be to implement various drawing operations you see in
PDF::Writer.
I will also have a post up on the O'Reilly blog within the next 24
hours with a comprehensive summary of what the first days of the work
on Ruby mendicant have been like. In that, I'll link to the project
roadmap, which will be up tomorrow afternoon and cover the milestones
for the next 4-6 weeks.

Prawn is officially no longer entirely vaporware, so let's rejoice!

It's important that you're spending a good deal of time making us
aware of what you're doing (especially those of whom donated), but
don't be afraid to let your work speak for itself, at least a
little... Definitely keep us up to date, but don't let it get in the
way of being productive! It might be good to keep it as a
mind-relaxing time when you're hitting a roadblock with coding. :)
Do what's natural for you.
