I'm a Korean American self-taught student in programming and I was wondering if someone could point me to a job board with companies hiring Ruby On Rails developers.  I am currently taking a class on RoR in New York City but I want to eventually live in Seoul, Korea.  I couldn't find any information on whether or not Ruby is a widely used language within startups in Korea.  I'm sorry I couldn't write this in Korean as it would be very hard to write for me.

I have no college degree so I am a little worried that no companies will take me as I've heard Korea is known for only hiring college graduates.

I need:
1. If Ruby on Rails is a popular language in big companies/startups
2. Where can I go to find job listings in Seoul, Korea for programmers
3. Any other information about the Korean webdevelopment/startup enviornment

Thank you so much for helping me!

Why do You want to search in Korea?
It's not good environments or cultures regarding developer's role even though a big company or startup via other countries.

Hello I came across this group just via a google search.  Mr. Yang, were you able to find a ruby on rails position in Korea?

Thank you everyone for your replies. I applied for Mr Kim Bum Seop's company but I found out that my name still remains in the Korean Family registry.  This means that I will have to go to the Korean military in order to work in Korea.  I've decided to apply for the ROK army as soon as September comes and give up my Korean citizenship afterwards(apparently I can't give up my citizenship without going to the military).  This is extremely unfortunate as I have to spend around two years not being able to study RoR.  As for Fast Track Asia, they seem to be a legitimate organization and was given much care by Mr Kim Bum Seop and his team.  I recommend others to apply on their website.  Does anyone know if I am allowed to bring my laptop/books to the army so I may continue studying?

Daniel,

Thanks for keeping us informed about the great opportunities, and best of luck on your military service obligation! I've been following your post for a while but have never posted on this board before.

Thanks,

Rick Carlino
