Hi,

I'm looking for Rails developers in or near me in Lake City, Fl.

Specifically I'm interested in switching from .NET to Ruby on Rails
and PostgreSQL for web projects and finding someone with experience to
guide me in the right direction.

More specifically I'm hoping to find Rails devs in Lake City or within
20mi so we can meet up for lunch or dinner to discuss ROR and
PostgreSQL.

Hi Brian. I don't recall seeing any folks on this list from over in
your
area. You should try and get over to Jax for a RubyJax, sometime. It's
not a horrid drive. My mother-in-law lives over there and when we
leave
her house it seems like a flash and we're home.

Going the other direction, though - whole different story.

:)

All that being said, you are more likely to find folks willing to
discuss Rails than PostgreSQL through this list. Rails is db-agnostic,
so it doesn't really care what you use underneath. The big story
lately
is noSQL db's, so that's what everyone's going on and on about.

Thanks! I just threw in the PostgreSQL. Just finding someone into ROR
would be plenty.

When is the next RubyJax meeting? I keep checking your event calender
but do not see anything. I noticed a lunch today at noon but I
couldn't get away in time to make it.

The drive doesn't bother me. I go to Jax and Gainesville a few times a
month already.

Not sure about the lunch, didn't see that. The RubyJax meetings usually
happen every month/month-and-a-half or so, but currently there's
probably a little delay due to some personnel changes over at HashRocket
- Lark, who was one of those who managed the group, has moved away and I
believe Matt is taking over. Join the meetup or keep an eye here for
updates.
