Cory, Thank you for this posting. I'm still reeling from the news.

I also copied CVREG and RubyCodeJam mailing list.

If you all haven't heard the news, Jim Weirich, creator of Rake and all around awesome guy, passed away last night.

There's been an outpouring of experiences with him on Twitter: https://twitter.com/search?q=jimweirich
I'll remember him for his sense of humor (https://twitter.com/jimweirich/status/386613674578046976) and for all of the great talks he gave: http://www.confreaks.com/presenters/24-jim-weirich. Though I didn't know him personally, we're all a little bit worse today for his passing.

A very sad occasion. Jim contributed so much to the Ruby community and was a wonderful person. I saw him speak many times and chatted briefly with him a couple of times. No question he will be missed, not just for his software contributions, but for his humorous, warm self as well.
