"Ruby interpreter (CUI) 1.9.3p545 [i386-mingw32] has stopped working

Ruby 1.9.3  was istall on my system and it was working fine.

Then I installed DevKit on same path,

Getting "Ruby interpreter (CUI) 1.9.3p545 [i386-mingw32] has stopped working( Windows error) every time
Ex:if run cmd>Users/Hari>Ruby -v
Seeing above error

Someone, please help me on this

What you mean by that? Did you extract DevKit on the *same* directory as Ruby, or in a directory *inside* Ruby?

Example, did you extract it at C:\Ruby193 (same directory) or inside C:\Ruby193\DevKit

It is important to know that because you might have replaced files required by Ruby with files provided by the DevKit that are not compatible.

If that is the case, I would recommend uninstall Ruby, remove the directory (C:\Ruby193), install Ruby again and then proceed to follow DevKit installation instructions:


IMPORTANT: do not extract DevKit directly into C:\Ruby193. Instead, use a sub directory inside, like C:\Ruby193\DevKit

Then proceed with the instructions provided in the wiki page to complete the installation.
