Inquiry and Guidance for GSOC Contribution

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Pritam Kumar, and I am a Delhi College of Engineering  student . I am eager to contribute to Ruby through the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) program and would appreciate some guidance on how to get started with my contributions.

I have gone through the list of past projects . Before I delve into the codebase, I would like to inquire about the best practices for starting contributions to Ruby.

Could you please provide information on:

1. Any specific documentation or guidelines I should be aware of before making my initial contribution?
2. The recommended channels for communication with the Ruby community and mentors? Do you have a dedicated channel on platforms such as Slack, Discord, or Telegram?
3. Are there any beginner-friendly issues or tasks that would be suitable for a newcomer in Ruby like me to start contributing to Ruby?

I am also curious if there is a centralized communication channel for GSoC applicants or contributors within the Ruby community, such as a Telegram group, Discord server, or any other platform where discussions and queries related to GSoC are actively taking place.
